About MCED Organization


Mohmand Community for Education & Development (M.CED) is a non-profit organization established in 1996 with a focus on promoting and protecting the basic rights of children, especially in the area of education. Registered under the Society Act of 1860 and Ex FATA Social Welfare, M.CED has been actively working to address the challenges faced by the communities in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs), including Mohmand, Bajaur, Khyber, North Waziristan, South Waziristan, Orakzai, Kurram, and the FRs, as well as in KP regions such as Charsadda, Peshawar, Chitral, Nowshera, and Swabi.
Vision:
Assisting poor, marginalized, and disadvantaged communities in rural areas to bring about qualitative and long-lasting change in their lives, focusing on self-reliance, self-management, self-help, gender and development, building partnerships and alliances, and policy advocacy.
Mission:
M.CED works for the promotion and protection of education rights, with a gender focus, in rural areas. It provides basic education opportunities at both the policy advocacy and service delivery levels to contribute to the Millennium Development Goals. Through advocacy, M.CED strives for rights to be upheld and for lasting solutions to be achieved.
Thematic Areas:
M.CED focuses its activities on Education, Health, Livelihood, Human Rights, Legal Aid, and Women Empowerment. The organization has implemented various projects and programs to address these issues and has partnered with several donors and organizations, including Action Aid Pakistan, USAID, Islamic Relief, IRSP, ITA, SPO, NEF, Sahil, NRSP, NCHD, Shirkat Gah, CIDA, ASER, among others.
Geographical Coverage:
M.CED operates in KP NMDs and KP regions, with a specific focus on education, legal aid, civil rights, economic empowerment, and research. The organization has established a strong presence in these areas, working closely with local communities and stakeholders to achieve its goals.
Achievements:
M.CED has established community-based education schools, conducted awareness campaigns, provided legal aid and health care services, and empowered women and marginalized groups. The organization’s efforts have contributed to improving the lives of thousands of people in the region.
